Bio – Natasha Paris: Show Consultant

As a teen, Natasha wrote 30 feature screenplays, which served as a practice run until she was old enough to study screenwriting at the university. After graduating, her goal was clear: gather as much cinematographic experience as possible to become a film director. Consequently, Natasha worked as an actor, assistant to producer, first assistant director, script supervisor, producer, script doctor, and much more.

For BBR Productions, a renowned Montreal-based film production company specializing in dramatic broadcast media, Natasha worked on EMOTIONAL ARITHMETIC (Susan Sarandon, Max Von Sydown, Gabriel Byrne, and Christopher Plummer); PAST LIVES (reality TV Series); ENTER THE VOID, directed by Gaspar Noé; THE DEVIL WITHIN (documentary).

Her first short SOLITUDE was screened in more than 6 national and international film festivals including Rhode Island International Film Festival and Brno 16 Film Festival. Her short COMPULSION 1897 was screened at such festivals as the 2009 Delray Beach Film Festival, Clermont-Ferrand Film Market, and Cannes’ Short Film Corner. Natasha wrote and directed EMPTY CALORIES, winner of a WorldFest Houston Film Festival Bronze Remi Award and MARGARITAS ON THE ROAD, her second short sponsored by Cirque du Soleil. She won the Chick Flicks Promo Script Contest with the screenplay DON’T HAVE TO BE A CHICK. Most recently, her 2017 Dallas 48 Hour Film Project, SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMEONE BLUE won Best Film, Best Writing as well as Best Cinematography, and will screen against competitive cities around the World in Paris, France (the Top 10 winners will screen at Cannes).

Her original screenplay THE ZODIAC DATER, a romantic comedy, was recently named Winner of the Scriptapalooza Fellowship, as well as finalist in various screenplay competitions including: 2014 DSA Big Star Screenwriting Competition, 2014 Creative World Awards – Comedy, 2010 The Emerging Screenwriters Screenplay Competition, 2010 Fresh Voices Screenplay Contest, winner in the Writer’s Digest Writing Competition, and received a recommended coverage recipient by Scriptwriter Central.

Natasha has worked as a writer/script doctor on more than 20 films, as a first assistant director in more than 12, directed more than 10, and produced over 15. She has also worked extensively with Grantwriting, Funding, and Production Management. Her short films have been screened in 18 various national and international film festivals. Loving every aspect of the film industry, she created the FILM FESTIVAL WITH A TWIST in Montreal in 2003, and as a board member of Women In Films Dallas (2012-2013) worked on helping others to fulfill their dreams as well.
